Speaking on the Super Six Podcast, Stuart Pearce has claimed that West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal are ‘absolutely sensational’ footballers.
Pearce was doing a mini-preview of Euro 2020, and he says that the Czech Republic could be dark horses for the tournament due to the ability of Soucek and Coufal.

Pearce was asked to name his dark horses for the tournament, and he says that Soucek and Coufal could make the Czech Republic contenders.
“Dark horses. I will throw out the Czechs. I think the Czechs might deliver and that’s solely based on the two boys at West Ham they’re absolutely sensational. Soucek will be a real threat in both boxes with his heading ability and his genuineness, Coufal can supply great crosses. I know those two first-hand, so I’m going to have them as the dark horses,” Pearce said.
Bad news for England
The worrying thing about this prediction is that the Czechs are in England’s group.
The Three Lions will be desperate to get through to the knockout stages, but with Croatia and the Czechs both being listed as dark horses for the tournament, this may not be a straightforward task.
Pearce is spot on about Soucek and Coufal, they’re both brilliant footballers who have a great understanding of one another’s games due to their link-up at West Ham this season.
England need to be at their very best if they’re going to get the better of the Czech Republic.
