Liverpool have been linked with Adama Traore, and Jurgen Klopp’s previous comments on the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger indicate why the Reds are keen on him.
90min has reported today that Liverpool are interested in signing Traore from Wolves in the summer transfer window.
The former Premier League champions were keen on the 25-year-old in January, and it seems they have retained their interest.
Traore is one of the better players in the Premier League and is well known to Klopp.
Liverpool manager Klopp is fully aware of the qualities of the former Aston Villa and Barcelona man.
After all, the German manager’s Liverpool have played against Traore on many occasions in the Premier League.
Klopp raved about about Traore in January 2020 after Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Wolves at Molineux.
The Birmingham Mail quoted Klopp as saying: “And Traore now, at the moment I would say he is, pretty much, unplayable. I’ve said it now a couple of times and it is still true.
“He is now not only a winger anymore, he keeps the ball, holds the ball and sets up goals, obviously. That makes it so difficult, each ball you lose is 100% a counter attack and half a goal.”
Now, Klopp clearly is a fan of Traore, who reportedly wants to leave.
Wolves are open to selling the winger as well.
Could a move happen?
For the right price, of course, it could happen.
Traore is a very capable winger who can whip in wonderful crosses and is also very threatening on the counter.
The winger could do with adding goals to his game, but at 25, he has time on his hands to add that particular facet.
