The Bad Batch episode 7

Episode 7 of The Bad Batch continues from last week’s instalment and finds the titular team of Clones returning to see Cid after failing to retrieve the data from the tactical droid.

Before they can set off on their next mission for the Trandoshan, a familiar face makes their presence known, Captain Rex.

Rex had tracked down the Bad Batch after receiving word from Trace and Rafa Martez at the end of episode 6.

The reunion is a happy one until Rex learns that none of the Bad Batch has had their inhibitor chip removed, the device that causes Clones to carry out Order 66.

Knowing how dangerous Clone Force 99 could be if their inhibitor chips activated, Rex persuades the Bad Batch to join him on a mission to a planet named Bracca to have their chips removed.

Bracca in Star Wars

Star Wars fans will instantly recognise the planet Bracca from the Star Wars video game, Jedi: Fallen Order.

The planet serves as the starting point for the well-received game which saw players take control of a young Jedi Padawan named Cal Kestis in the years that followed Order 66.

The planet of Bracca itself is located in the Mid Rim of the Star Wars galaxy and aside from its piles of scrapped starships, it is largely made up of open, rocky plains.

Thanks to its fairly central location, Bracca is located near a number of busy hyperspace routes which made it a popular planet on which to dump junk and much of the planet’s population was there to purposely scrap and scavenge.

Following the collapse of the Republic, Bracca was used as a scrapyard for disused starships and weaponry from the Clone Wars.

As mentioned in The Bad Batch, the planet is under the administration of the Scrapper Guild who were tasked with scrapping the fleets of ships and selling useful parts to the Empire.

Fans want Cal Kestis cameo

Following Bracca’s appearance in The Bad Batch, Star Wars fans have been left asking for Cal Kestis to make a cameo in the series, with many taking to social media to voice their thoughts.

One fan on Twitter wrote: “Absolutely disgusted that we got an episode on Bracca but didn’t get any Cal Kestis.”

While another added: “I LITERALLY STARTED MAKING GRABBY HANDS AT MY TV AS SOON AS HE SAID BRACCA I WAS LIKE ‘CAL? BABY CAL? MY SON? GIVE ME A GLIMPSE OF MY SON PLEASE'”

And finally, this fan commented:

Of course, a cameo from a young Cal Kestis is not out of the realms of possibility but like Caleb Dume (aka Kanan Jarrus) in episode 1 of The Bad Batch, Cal would look much younger than he does in the majority of the Fallen Order game as The Bad Batch takes place several years earlier.
