Ryan Edmondson will leave Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United and will join Fleetwood Town today, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post.
It has been reported that Edmondson will undergo a medical at League One club Fleetwood and then join them on loan from Premier League outfit Leeds today.
The 20-year-old striker joined Leeds from York City in November 2017.
The youngster did well for the Whites’ youth team and had loan spells away from Elland Road this past season.
The English youngster spent the first half of the 2020-21 season on loan at Aberdeen and the second half at Northampton Town.
Edmondson is only 20, and although he impressed Leeds head coach Bielsa in training last year, it is quite a jump to play in the Premier League.
A season on loan at Fleetwood would make sense.
Former Leeds manager Simon Grayson is the manager of Fleetwood now, and the youngster could improve and develop under him.
Former York City manager Martin Gray described Edmondson as “quick” and “very aggressive” on the club’s official website in November 2017.
Hopefully for the youngster, he will do well at Fleetwood and then return to Leeds next summer a better player.
