According to L’Equipe, Everton have made contact with Rudi Garcia about potentially becoming their new manager.

The French boss is currently out of work having left Lyon at the end of the 2020/21 season, and it seems as though he could be offered an immediate return to club management at Everton.

The 57-year-old’s CV is certainly impressive, having managed the likes of Marseille, Roma and Lyon during his career, and he has also been compared to Pep Guardiola.

Indeed, former Barcelona man Seydou Keita worked with Garcia at Roma, and he claims he’s similar to Guardiola.

“Pep spoke highly of me at Barcelona because he always recognised my work for the team. Garcia is similar and reminds me of Pep, as he too likes to see his team play good football via possession and control,” Keita said.

Having a manager who has a similar style to Guardiola sounds quite appetising, it has to be said.

Unfortunately, the French outlet report that the talks aren’t in an advanced stage right now, but the fact that the Toffees are in for Garcia is rather exciting.

The French boss is a fantastic tactician, and Everton supporters would have every right to be very excited by these links.
