Journalist Dharmesh Sheth has suggested that first-team football could be a ‘dealbreaker’ for Mat Ryan at Arsenal with Celtic also keen.
Ryan joined Arsenal on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion in January, offering experienced cover behind Bernd Leno.
The Australian, 29, started just three Premier League games for Arsenal but was hailed for ‘training like a beast’ by Mikel Arteta.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has suggested that Arsenal are keen to keep Ryan on a permanent deal having looked at Seagulls teammate Yves Bissouma.
Sheth did though suggest that Ryan may seek first-team promises, and if they’re not coming at Arsenal, that could be a deal breaker for him.
“They haven’t ruled out signing the keeper Mat Ryan on a permanent deal,” said Sheth. “He was on loan of course last season, went back to Brighton – that may depend on how much he will cost, number one, and also the decision Mat Ryan might have to make because he may want assurances, at his stage of his career, about first-team football. If he can’t get that at Arsenal, it may be a deal breaker with regard to him going back to Arsenal,” he added.
Arsenal aren’t sure about Bernd Leno’s future yet, and with Ajax’s Andre Onana also wanted, Ryan surely won’t be first-choice at Arsenal any time soon.
Arsenal like Ryan, but what about Celtic?
One club who could offer him first-team football is Celtic, who are keen on signing Ryan according to talkSPORT.
Ryan’s former Australia boss Ange Postecoglou has now been appointed as Celtic manager, and could pursue a reunion.
Celtic don’t have a settled first-choice stopper right now, and Ryan would have more chance of playing regularly there than he would at Arsenal.
