Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara has admitted he was “shocked” by the Finnish FA’s “naive” video announcing their squad for Euro 2020 – and told how he sought talks with people within the national association for an explanation.
Each player involved was introduced by a different person, with some Finnish celebrities taking part, but Kamara being named by a police officer left the Rangers star initially bewildered.
After speaking to the Finnish FA, Kamara calmed down and the Ibrox midfielder was “assured” it was intended to be viewed positively.
“I watched the video with a few guys and my reaction was that for a moment, what just happened there,” he said, speaking to Ilta-Sanomat,
“I spoke to the people of the Football Association and they assured me that the purpose of the idea was positive.
“I realised after that that they wanted to show that the police support me. Then I calmed down.
“It was naive. I was a little shocked at first. No one asked me anything about it.”
Finland will take part in their first-ever major tournament this summer and Kamara will be hoping he can carry his Rangers form into Euro 2020.

The Ibrox star has been in phenomenal form for Steven Gerrard’s side on the way to win the title and can really make the difference for Finland this summer.
The Finns will face Denmark in their group stage opener before games with Russia and Belgium as they aim to reach the knockout stages of the competition.
