Newcastle United and West Ham United are both interested in signing Wout Weghorst from Wolfsburg this summer, the Athletic report.
The giant forward netted 20 goals in the Bundesliga over the past campaign, and his goalscoring form has put him on the radar of both Newcastle and West Ham.
Both Steve Bruce’s and David Moyes’ sides are believed to be keen on landing a new number nine this summer.
Promising for both
West Ham need a player who can lead their line, as beyond Michail Antonio their current options look extremely limited.
At Newcastle, Weghorst could be real pest in partnership with Callum Wilson.
The pair would have the credentials to make a very effective duo up-front, with Weghorst having great aerial ability and Wilson being lightening quick.

The 28-year-old will apparently be allowed to leave for a the price of £25 million, with Wolfsburg anticipating offers.
While he would have little re-sale at 28, there are few options on the market for West Ham or Newcastle who have scored the volume of goals that Weghorst has, for such a low price.
Wolfsburg boss Olivier Glasner has already stated how ‘dangerous’ he thinks the striker is (Bundesliga), and the current links are sure to appeal to both Newcastle and West Ham supporters as the transfer window opens again.
