The developer beta for iOS 15 has arrived – here’s how to remove, delete or uninstall it in case you want to go back to iOS 14.

This year’s Apple developer conference (June 7th, 2021) revealed a number of new features with the upcoming iOS 15 which will arrive in autumn of 2021.

But are you one of the people who installed the developer preview and want to go back to iOS 14 now?

How to remove iOS 15 beta on iPhone 8 or newer

You will need a Mac or PC in order to remove iOS 15 beta from your device. Follow the steps down below in case you have an iPhone 8 or newer:

  • Connect your iPhone to your computer and change it to recovery mode.
  • Press the volume up and down buttons and hold in the side button until the recovery screen comes up.
  • Your computer will ask you whether you want to ‘Restore’ or ‘Update’ your device. Select ‘Restore’.
  • Download and install iOS 14 on your device.

How to install iOS 15 beta

Firstly, you need to use the device that you intend to run the beta. All of the Apple devices that supported iOS 14 will also support iOS 15.

Using the device, go to beta.apple.com and sign up using your Apple ID.

Next, download the beta profile and activate it by Settings > General > Profile, before selecting the beta.

You will continue to receive beta updates throughout the program.

iOS 15: New features

Thanks to iOS 15, FaceTime will be available on Android and Windows once the full version arrives in autumn of this year.

With your Android or Windows device, you will be able use FaceTime when someone with an Apple device sends you a link to a FaceTime call.

Another new feature to FaceTime is SharePlay thanks to which you can listen to music or watch a movie with friends or family during a video call.

SharePlay will work across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and will also be available on Apple TV.
