According to The Chronicle, Arsenal central defender William Saliba is open to leaving the Gunners amid interest from Newcastle United.
Newcastle have been monitoring Saliba for 18 months and are willing to sign the defender on loan in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal manager Arteta would not stand in the 20-year-old’s way if a loan bid came in from Premier League rivals Newcastle.
The report has added that the French defender is ‘open’ to ‘an escape from Arsenal’ and is willing to stay in the Premier League.
Arsenal stay or Newcastle United loan transfer?
Saliba could not make a single appearance for Arsenal in the Premier League in the first half of the past season.
The youngster – who earns £40,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – was then sent out on loan to Nice in the January transfer window.
Arsenal manager Arteta clearly did not think that Saliba was ready to play for his side in the Premier League.

Has the defender done enough in France in the past few months to change the Spaniard’s mind?
It would not be a bad idea for Saliba to go out on loan to Newcastle for the first half of next season.
Arteta could then keep a close eye on the Frenchman and see how he does in the Premier League.
