Sweet Tooth on Netflix

There’s nothing Netflix can’t make entertaining – even a global pandemic.

Netflix’s newest series, ‘Sweet Tooth’, is a whimsical tale of survival. Based on the highly acclaimed book series from Jeff Lemire, the show takes place in a reality where the mysterious H5G9 virus, aka The Sick, has turned the world upside down, killing millions and bringing all government and infrastructure down.

Around the same time, hybrid babies – part human, part animal – start being born.

Despite their cuteness, society is ill-prepared to accept this new species, and hybrids are ultimately hunted by poachers who either want to kill them, sell them, or experiment on them.

That’s where Gus (Christian Convery) comes in, rocking an adorable set of antlers. The show follows the 11-year-old half-human/ half-deer, who was taken to the woods by his dad (Will Forte) as a baby, in an attempt to keep him safe from the decaying outside world.

That’s until a series of unfortunate events forces Gus to venture outside of his childhood home and into the great unknown.

Who is the narrator of Sweet Tooth?

  • Sweet Tooth is narrated by James Brolin.

As any other dystopian fairytale, ‘Sweet Tooth’ counts with an omnipotent narrator, recounting the show’s events and introducing characters from offscreen.

And what better narrator than the actor from the classics ‘The Amityville Horror’ (1979) and ‘Westworld’ (1973).

Or maybe you know him from his regular TV work, like on ‘Life in Pieces (2015-2019), ‘Pensacola: Wings of Gold’ (1997-2000), ‘Hotel’ (1983-1988) or ‘Marcus Welby, M.D.’ (1969-1976).
