Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has played down reports linking him with a return to the Premier League, speaking to Quotidiano, amid reported interest from Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
As Juventus maintain their annual tradition of poaching star players from Serie A rivals, Gianluigi Donnarumma may soon be following in the gilded footsteps of Edgar Davids, Andrea Pirlo and Leonardo Bonucci by swapping Milan for Turin.
And, as Juve step up their interest in Italy’s number one, speculation surrounding the future of another international shot-stopper has also gone into overdrive.
Gazzetta dello Sport caused quite a stir last week when it suggested Szczesny would be welcomed back at Arsenal with open arms as Bernd Leno gets increasingly itchy feet.
Is Juventus star Szczesny heading back to Arsenal?
A return to Arsenal is one thing.
But the prospect of Szczesny joining arch rivals Tottenham would be even more of a surprise, especially given the Arsenal-mad shot-stopper has never shied away from mocking the men from down the road (Goal).
But when quizzed about his future at the weekend, Szczesny was keen to point out the rumours are just that – rumours.

“I will try to answer this question once and for all. The topic has been in the media for a long time and is worth talking about,” said Szczesny, attacking the question with all the vigour of a man determined to silence any lingering speculation.
“I have not had any contact with my club or with others, because there is no argument about my departure. I am not responsible for Juventus’ transfers.”
In May, TuttoJuve reported Everton are also admirers of Szczesny.
But while the Toffees certainly need a new goalkeeper after deciding against extending Robin Olsen’s stay on Merseyside, it seems Marcel Brands and co will need to look elsewhere.
