Arsenal need to sign a playmaker – and fans are falling over themselves to clamour for the arrival of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.
The Gunners have seen Martin Odegaard’s loan deal end, and Arsenal have now missed out on signing Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa – meaning the Argentinian will now join Grealish.
Another playmaker target is now required at Arsenal, and Grealish’s latest performance for England has set tongues wagging.
Grealish shines for England
England’s 1-0 win over Romania was drab and uninspired, hardly the way Gareth Southgate wanted to go into the European Championships.
Grealish did though produce one outstanding moment, winning a second-half penalty by drifting past defenders with ease. Marcus Rashford stepped up to score, securing the win.
The way Grealish can retain the ball with close control and balance is outstanding, and he was once again the best player on the pitch last night.

What the Arsenal fans are saying about Grealish?
Arsenal fans swarmed Twitter begging for Grealish to arrive at ‘the carpet’ – their name for the Emirates Stadium.
Some called Grealish ‘special’, urging Arsenal to break the bank for him despite him surely costing way more than their entire budget.
There were even shouts for Arsenal to sell their squad in order to focus on buying Grealish.
Is such a move likely?
Absolutely not.
Villa are under absolutely no pressure to sell their homegrown star and talismanic captain, meaning they can demand a record fee for an English player.
Arsenal don’t have a huge budget to work with. Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that whilst the Gunners may well fancy signing Grealish, they just can’t afford him. In fact, he would cost around double what Arsenal have set aside for a playmaker.
As one of the Premier League’s top playmakers, Grealish would be a headline replacement for Odegaard.
Arsenal fans may be dreaming about Grealish arriving, but it seems very, very unlikely that their dreams will come true any time soon.
