Tottenham Hotspur will appoint Fabio Paratici as the director of football, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Tottenham will announce the appointment of Paratici in the role this week.

The Italian has already left his role at Serie A club Juventus.

The announcement will come following breakdown of talks between Tottenham and Antonio Conte, according to the report.

Paratici worked with Conte when they were at Juventus, and the dream team would have been reunited at Tottenham.

Conte, who recently left his managerial role at Inter Milan, is not coming.

But, it seems that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is pressing ahead with the appointment of Paratici.

Now, that is the not the appointment that many Tottenham fans will have been hoping to be announced this week.

Most Spurs supporters would want a manager to be sorted first.

After all, Tottenham have been without a permanent manager since April when Jose Mourinho was sacked.

Of course, a director of football is needed at a major club like Tottenham.

Spurs, like other big clubs in England and Europe, need to have a structure in place.

But it is very important that Tottenham find a manager soon.
