Emiliano Martinez has hinted on Instagram that reported Aston Villa and Arsenal target, Emiliano Buendia, could be heading to the Midlands.

Rumours have been rife on Saturday that the Norwich City playmaker has opted to move to Villa Park over Arsenal – it is believed it will be a club-record fee for Villa if they sign Buendia.

Well, it seems as though one of Arsenal’s former players – who joined Villa last summer – has probably played a part in Buendia picking to play for Dean Smith over Mikel Arteta.

An Aston Villa fan account – AstonForza – posted on Instagram ‘Let’s not forget the real hero in all of this. Agent Martinez’, and the goalkeeper liked the post, as you can see below.

The summer transfer window is due to open next month, and with the European Championships set to take centre stage, there hasn’t been any real action in the market.

But it seems as though Villa will throw the first big punch of the summer transfer window by landing the talents of the best player in England’s second-tier this season.

Whilst Villa fans are joyous at the news breaking about Buendia, those in North London are once again ready to get the knives out for those running their club.

The Kroenke’s are already an unpopular bunch with Arsenal fans and this will only ignite their anger even further if one of their targets heads to the Midlands rather than the capital.

As for Villa, they can now start to dream about Buendia linking up with the likes of Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins, John McGinn and Anwar El Ghazi next season.

Either way, if Buendia does indeed sign on the dotted line for those in Claret and Blue then it would be a pretty strong early maker from them.
