Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after learning that Emiliano Buendia seemingly won’t be heading to North London.
The Norwich playmaker has long been linked with Arsenal, and there was real hope that he would be joining the Gunners.
90Min reported on Saturday that Arsenal were on course to sign Buendia, and that he preferred a move there over Aston Villa.
However, The Athletic now claim that Villa have beaten Arsenal in the race for Buendia, agreeng a deal worth up to £38million with a medical already completed.
How good was Buendia last season?
Buendia racked up a staggering 15 goals and 16 assists for Norwich last season, and will leave despite the Canaries winning promotion.
The Argentinian playmaker looked ideal for Arsenal; he’s impressed in the Premier League before, he’s still only 24 and has the versatility to play out wide if needed.
Having dealt with his agent before over Emiliano Martinez, he seemed perfect for Arsenal. Sadly, Buendia is now joining Martinez at Villa.
Buendia would have been cheaper to sign permanently than Martin Odegaard too, and Arsenal fans are far from happy.

Some believe that this is the sort of deal Arsenal needed to strike, and have branded missing out as ’embarrassing’.
Others called it a ‘worry’ and ‘a disaster’, feeling that this is a bad sign for Arsenal’s business moving forward.
