Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared what he knows about Arsenal and their reported interest in Andre Onana.
The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the Ajax goalkeeper, and it seems as though they’ve now formalised that interest, making an official offer to the Dutch outfit.

Castles has shared his information on the situation with Onana, claiming that the Gunners have made an offer for the goalkeeper, which a source within Ajax has described as a ‘very low offer’.
“I’m not sure they’re in the best position, and I’m not sure Ajax will let him go for a cheap deal, but Arsenal have made what is described to me by a friend at Ajax as a ‘very low offer’ for Andre Onana. They’re trying to take advantage of that drug ban, which is due to run until February, but Onana is challenging that in court and is hoping that he will be cleared to play again next season. Either way, you can understand why Arsenal are trying to get him,” Castles said.

Arsenal mustn’t mess around with this deal by lowballing Ajax.
Onana is a quality goalkeeper, and if the Gunners are after a new number one, there may not be many better options in world football.
Onana once placed seventh in the Yashin Trophy voting, while he’s also previously been described as ‘one of the best in the world’.
The fact that a source at Ajax described this as a ‘very low offer’ indicates that it’s unlikely to be accepted, so the Gunners may need to put together a more lucrative package to land their man.
