Some Aston Villa fans on social media are getting very excited after they were linked with a move for Josh Feeney.
Feeney is an exciting young talent, and he’s even the captain of the England U16 side, showing just how highly-rated the teenager is.
Aston Villa already have one of the most talented academies in the country.
They’re the reigning FA Youth Cup champions, while they have some of the best young footballers in the country on their books with the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Carney Chukwuemeka and Louie Barry coming through.
Add a player like Feeney to that mix and you have an academy system that can flourish into one of the most talented squads in the country.
So what type of player is Feeney? The 16-year-old is a 6 ft 4 centre-half, and at that age, you’d imagine that he still has room to grow to become even taller, which is of course a vital attribute for a centre-back.
Understandably, Villa fans were excited about the idea of signing Feeney, and here’s what they’ve been saying on social media…
We will have the best academy known to man no joke https://t.co/dgDM2hWPPr
