Ebrima Darboe is a player in demand, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs linked with the AS Roma midfielder.

90min reported last month that Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham United are among the clubs who want to sign the 19-year-old Roma midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Also last month, Corriere dello Sport claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham are eyeing moves for the Gambian midfielder.

The youngster broke into the Roma first team this past season and did well when he got the chance.

The teenage midfielder made four starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A.

Darboe also played 61 minutes in the Europa League.

Now, Jose Mourinho has been appointed the new manager of Roma.

Mourinho has been brought in to take Roma to the Champions League and eventually win the Serie A title.

Darboe is only 19, and he is a player who is still developing and progressing.

You would think that Mourinho might not use the teenager much, but what is being reported in TMW is quite interesting.

And it is a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool’s quest to sign the midfielder.

TMW are reporting that Mourinho is happy to keep Darboe in his squad for now and will take a close look at him in pre-season.

The former Tottenham manager will then make a decision on whether to use him or not next season.

Whatever Mourinho’s decision is, Roma will reportedly not sell the youngster and will only send him out on loan.

What is even a bigger blow to Arsenal and Liverpool is that Roma are planning to hand Darboe a new deal which will see his current wages doubles.
