According to a report by Voetbal International, Everton are interested in signing PSV full-back Denzel Dumfries this summer.
Everton could certainly do with more depth at right-back. Seamus Coleman is no spring chicken, and Ben Godfrey has been forced to play there on a number of occasions this term despite being a natural centre-half.
Dumfries would certainly be an interesting addition. He has a lot of pedigree, being a 18-time Netherlands international, but there’s reason to believe that he’d struggle to adapt to the Premier League.
Indeed, although Dumfries hasn’t played in England, he has played against England with the Netherlands, and it’s fair to say he didn’t have the best of days.

The Three Lions won 3-1 on that day, and Dumfries was arguably one of the Dutch side’s worst performers, being branded by Gary Neville as ‘not a defender at all’ due to his inability to cope with England’s attack.
Of course, that could have just been an off-day for Dumfries, and the fact that Manchester United have previously shown an interest in the 25-year-old indicates that he may be better than his performance against England suggested.
Everton are seemingly hot on his trail heading into the summer window, and with the Toffees needing a right-back, this is a deal that could come to fruition.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
