According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, who West Ham also want.

What’s the story?

Well, The Athletic believe Burnley are also keen to sign the 24-year-old.

In fact, having had Worrall on their radar for a long time, Burnley are described as the side most interested in signing the centre-back.

The Athletic state that the 3-cap England Under-21 international is available for around £10 million, which could potentially be a bargain.

This season, the Nottingham-born colossus made 31 appearances in the Championship, scoring once and assisting once for Forest.

Worrall also spent time on loan at Rangers in 2018/19.

At Ibrox, Steven Gerrard described the defender as ‘outstanding‘ after he shone in a 2-2 draw against Villarreal.

West Ham have already made an enquiry for Worrall

According to The Sun, West Ham have already made contact with Nottingham Forest in regards to signing their academy graduate.

In that report, it is said that Worrall is interested in moving to the Premier League, after emerging as one of the Championship’s best.

Now, this isn’t good news for Crystal Palace, or for Burnley.

West Ham can offer Worrall Europa League football.

In that respect, the east Londoners are a more attractive destination than Selhurst Park or Turf Moor, in our view.

Keep an eye on this saga, as £10 million isn’t much for Premier League sides at all – it’s very possible that Worrall leaves the City Ground this summer.
