Former Rangers duo Kyle Lafferty and Kirk Broadfoot will leave Kilmarnock after their relegation from the Scottish Premiership, the Ayrshire side have confirmed.

Lafferty, who struck 13 goals in 13 games for Killie, joined the Rugby Park side on a short-term deal and quickly became a big favourite after netting hat-tricks against Stenhousemuir and Dundee United.

The Northern Irishman will now be looking for his 14th club in sixteen years but likely won’t be short of suitors after an impressive stint at Killie.

Lafferty was offered a new deal to stay at Kilmarnock but has decided against extending his time in Ayrshire.

Broadfoot made over 150 appearances for Kilmarnock in two spells at the club either side of a stint at St. Mirren.

The veteran defender was a regular part of Tommy Wright’s side as they tried to keep their place in the top flight.

Ex-Rangers stars not the only departures

Greg Kiltie and Mitch Pinnock are also both leaving Rugby Park this summer after rejecting new contracts while they remain in talks over a new deal with another ex-Rangers star in Chris Burke.

Killie boss Tommy Wright has already released Gary Dicker, Clevid Dikamona, George Oakley, Danny Rogers, Youssouf Mulumbu, Aaron Tshibola, Diaguely Dabo, Nicke Kabamba, Danny Whitehall and Ally Taylor as he looks to immediately bounce back from relegation and guide Kilmarnock back to the Premiership at the first time of asking.
