Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Schalke 04 announced that they cannot afford to keep Sead Kolašinac.
The German side signed Kolašinac on loan back in January.
However, the 27-year-old couldn’t help them avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
Now, Schalke 04 cannot afford to keep the 38-cap Bosnia international, so he will be returning to the Emirates Stadium.
That means Kolašinac will have to see out the final year of his contract at Arsenal, even though Mikel Arteta clearly doesn’t want him.
Some fans below have, at first glance, reacted quite nastily to this news.
One wrote ‘terminate his contract’ as another said this update had ruined their day.

However, we don’t believe the comments are personal. Purely from a business sense, it wouldn’t be a smart move to keep Kolašinac.
Sead Kolašinac has to be offloaded for good
Amazingly, the left-back earns £100,000-a-week at Arsenal, which is far, far too much, given his role as a fringe player.
Arteta has already shown his ruthless side when terminating the contracts of Mesut Özil, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis.
In that respect, the fanbase’s hope of seeing the same happen to Kolašinac might not be too unrealistic.
In our view, that’s exactly what Arteta has to ensure happens.

Arsenal can’t afford to have deadwood hanging around London Colney.
It would be best to pay the Bosnian off, and simply learn from the mistake that was offering him such a huge contract.
Let’s see what the supporters have been saying after it was revealed that Kolašinac is coming back to Arsenal…
