According to Calciomercato, Everton are now interested in hiring Andrea Pirlo, after he was sacked by Juventus.
What’s the story?
After being handed his P45 by Juventus, Sassuolo and Verona are also eyeing the 42-year-old.
Juventus shocked Europe when they sacked Maurizio Sarri last summer to hire Pirlo, who had never previously managed in football.
Now, the Toffees are interested in appointing him as Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement, after the Italian surprisingly rejoined Real Madrid.
Pirlo has been added to Everton’s list, and is being evaluated by those at Goodison Park, such as Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri.
Hiring Andrea Pirlo would be a huge risk
Everton simply cannot go from Ancelotti to Pirlo.

Pirlo oversaw a very disappointing league campaign with Juventus, finishing fourth in Serie A – 13 points behind the champions, Inter Milan.
The Flero-born tactician did, in fairness, win the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.
However, with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo at his disposal, it would’ve been a shock if he didn’t win anything.

Currently, Everton are a side in limbo, who need a strong, experienced presence to come in and steady the ship.
Pirlo, who has just been sacked after his one and only season in management, doesn’t strike us as being that person.
Simply put, this would be a terrible appointment, in our view.
