According to the Daily Mail, Duncan Ferguson wants to be considered for the position of Everton manager.
The Toffees were rocked on Tuesday as Carlo Ancelotti left the club to become Real Madrid boss, leaving mere hours after his exit was rumoured.
It’s claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham United boss are currently the favourites to replace Ancelotti.
However, Ferguson wants to be considered and feels he is now ready for the job having worked closely with Ancelotti.
Ferguson is understood to have impressed majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri during his spell as caretaker manager back in December 2019.
The Scot – regularly branded ‘fearsome’, or words to that effect – is a club legend at Goodison Park, having 72 goals in 273 games for the Toffees as a player, before then turning his attention to coaching.

Ferguson only won one of his four games in caretaker charge, but didn’t lose at all, and it’s no great shock that he fancies becoming a manager in his own right.
He may well have to leave Everton to make it happen, but he has at least made it clear that he wants the Toffees job now; it’s up to Moshiri to decide whether now is the time.
