According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic’s move to appoint Ange Postecoglou could now take weeks to finalise.
Celtic missed out on Eddie Howe last week, and have turned their attention to appointing Postecoglou as Neil Lennon’s successor.
It’s noted that Postecoglou doesn’t have the necessary coaching badges to take a role in a top-flight European league.
Celtic have appealed that verdict, stating that Postecoglou’s 25-year career around Australia and Japan means he should be granted an exemption.
One UEFA spokesperson is quoted as saying that this process could now take several weeks – and that’s a real concern for Celtic.
Sure, they remain confident that the Australian will be their new manager, but they are due back for pre-season training on June 17th – just two weeks away.

There is now a very real chance that Postecoglou isn’t able to take pre-season training from day one, even though talks with Yokohama F. Marinos are ‘progressing well’.
It’s now 100 days since Neil Lennon left, and Celtic are facing the prospect of not having a manager in place for the start of pre-season.
This is an embarrassing situation for Celtic, and they will hope for more clarity on Postecoglou as soon as possible.
