It’s fair to say that Everton fans aren’t particularly keen on the idea of appointing David Moyes as their new boss.

The Times say that Moyes could be on Everton’s wishlist as they look for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement.

Moyes is well known to Everton supporters, having spent a decade at the club before leaving them to join Manchester United.

Moyes enjoyed good success at Goodison Park for much of the time he was at the club.

However, Everton fans do not seem at all enamoured by claims that he could return in the near future.

Chances of a return

What may be positive for the concerned Everton fans is that any comeback does seem unlikely.

Moyes has performed impressively with West Ham United over the past year and he would surely feel reluctant to leave the London Stadium at this point.

Everton’s main target to be their next manager should become clearer in time, as Ancelotti’s departure was such a shock.

The Toffees simply weren’t planning to lose their boss in the near future, but were powerless to stop him joining Real Madrid in the end.

If Moyes is to be given the job it seems that he will have to turn around opinions on Merseyside, as the initial reaction suggests his appointment wouldn’t go down particularly well.
