Eintracht Frankfurt will “try everything” to keep reported Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers target Andre Silva in the Bundesliga, sporting director Markus Krosche has told Kicker.
If the Eagles wanted to stop one of Europe’s hottest strikers from flying the nest, a disastrous end to the 2020/21 campaign was far from ideal.
Frankfurt spent most of the year sitting pretty in the Champions League places only to drop out at the eleventh hour as Borussia Dortmund nabbed a top-four spot from under their nose.
As a result, retaining the services of their talismanic top scorer has just become that little bit harder.
Silva, the one-time Porto wonderkid, finally put a dismal spell at AC Milan behind him with a record-breaking 29 goals in only 34 games last season.
According to Calciomercato in March, Arsenal see the prolific Portugal international as a replacement for the ageing Alexandre Lacazette, with Wolves also long-time admirers of the £30 million-rated Jorge Mendes client.

But after losing influential head coach Adi Hutter to Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach, Frankfurt’s newly appointed sporting director is desperate to retain the services of a man who outscored Erling Haaland during the finest season of his career.
“I’ll try everything and, together with the coach (former Wolfsburg boss Oliver Glasner), try to convince them it makes sense to continue on this path with us,” Krosche says when asked about Silva and rampaging winger Filip Kostic.
“We’ll see if we can do that. The boys have their own ideas. Playing with the fans in Europe is a very big factor that would be a lot of fun for both of us, like all of us.
“It is always important for a striker that you play attacking football and you have a chance to score goals. Andre knows it worked out very well last year. We want to continue and (Silva) knows the way we play football and want to play helps him keep scoring goals.
“I am convinced we have a chance he will stay with us.”

According to Kicker, Frankfurt will hold talks with Silva’s camp during the next few days.
And while the Eagles won’t be flying high in the Champions League next term, they secured Europa League qualification.
And that’s more than can be said of an Arsenal side that missed out on continental competition for the first time this century.
