According to Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, June 1st, page 14), West Ham are interested in signing Sampdoria’s Morten Thorsby.
The 25-year-old is said to be heading for the exit door this summer, and could be available for a reasonable fee as a result.
Additionally, Gazzetta dello Sport claim that West Ham have scouted the 5-cap Norway international on several occasions.

He is seen as an ideal player for the rigours of the Premier League.
Napoli and Atalanta have also been monitoring Thorsby, who has two years left on his contract with the Serie A outfit.
In 33 Serie A appearances this season, he scored three goals and provided one assist, while also picking up ten yellow cards.

Morten Thorsby once ‘upset’ Cristiano Ronaldo
If you’re going to play in midfield for a Premier League club, you need to be something of a tough tackler.
Thorsby sounds exactly that, so much so that he once left none other than Cristiano Ronaldo a little bit frustrated with his ball winning ability.
Well, he didn’t quite use that language.
As quoted by Travely, the Norwegian said: “He’s a great player. He was a little p***** when I caught the ball from him once. It was an intervention that I had to face in the first game where he was upset. There was resentment.”
If you’re able to wind up someone like Ronaldo, you must be pretty good at what you do.
Hopefully, if West Ham bring Thorsby to the Premier League, he can have a similar effect on the likes of Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane.
