According to The Sun (30/05, p59), Dundee United goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist is waiting for Celtic to make a move for him.
It’s claimed that Ipswich Town have identified Siegrist as a top summer target and really want to bring him down to Portman Road.
Siegrist is out of contract at the end of next season, meaning he could be a bargain addition with Paul Cook seeking to completely overhaul his squad.
The 29-year-old seemingly isn’t all that keen on a move to League One though, and is actually waiting for Celtic to make a move.
The Bhoys have been tracking Siegrist and his great performances at Dundee United, but have yet to firm up their interest.
Much will depend on what Celtic’s next manager thinks of Vasilis Barkas, who struggled in his first season with the Bhoys having joined from AEK Athens last summer.

Siegrist could make sense as a proven SPFL goalkeeper to challenge Barkas whilst offering a viable alternative if the Greek international struggles again next term.
The Swiss ace has starred since joining Dundee United in 2018, being banded ‘top drawer’ by Micky Mellon, and it looks like Celtic’s stance will now determine whether the former Aston Villa ace heads back to England or not.
