Arsenal have been tracking Norwich City star Emiliano Buendía for three years, according to The Athletic.
The Gunners have reportedly been keeping tabs on the Argentine attacking midfielder since he joined Norwich in 2018.
The report has added that Arsenal have ‘recommenced contact’ with the 24-year-old’s camp and see him as an alternative if they are unable to re-sign Real Madrid attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard – their number one target.
Emiliano Buendia to Arsenal?
Buendia is 24 and is a versatile attacking player.
The Argentine can play as a number 10 as well as out in wide areas.
The creative player played in the Premier League in 2019-20 and was instrumental in the Canaries clinching automatic promotion from the Championship this season.
Buendia scored 15 goals and gave 16 assists in the Championship this season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the creative player scored eight goals and gave 12 assists in the Premier League.
Described as an “incredible player” by former Norwich striker Dean Ashton on talkSPORT (4:42pm, February 25, 2021), Buendia would be a good signing for Arsenal and would be able to make an immediate impact at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal reportedly tracking Buendia for three years suggests that they have done their homework on the Norwich star.
Buendia is likely to be a more attainable option than Odegaard.
After all, the new manager at Madrid is likely to give the Norway international attacking midfielder a chance.
