Andros Townsend told talkSPORT that West Ham boss, David Moyes, is his Manager of the Season ahead of Manchester City’s, Pep Guardiola.
The Crystal Palace winger thinks that the job Moyes has done at West Ham ‘trumps’ what Guardiola has done at the Etihad.
Last season, the Hammers were battling relegation, and when they were beaten on the opening day of this campaign, you couldn’t blame the West Ham supporters for thinking the same scenario was going to repeat itself.
But after West Ham’s epic comeback against Tottenham in October, the wheel started to turn for those in East London and all eyes started to focus near the European places rather than the relegation zone.
And Townsend thinks Moyes deserves that gong for how he has transformed West Ham from where they were.
“For me, David Moyes,” said Townsend. “I remember at the start of the season, he was favourite for the sack after he had a bad start.
“Then they had a tough run of games and they came through it and finished in the Europa League places, so for me, the job he has done there, for sure, trumps what Pep (Guardiola) has done.”

From surviving relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, West Ham are now preparing for a European tour next term.
During his managerial career, Moyes has flirted with Europe, with Everton and during his brief stint at Manchester United.
But the platform he has set now is a real chance for West Ham to become a force once again.
