Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are worried after PSG tweeted out an interview with Mauricio Pochettino on their official website today, amid rumours he could return to North London.
The Athletic broke the news that Tottenham were in talks over a shock return with Pochettino earlier today.
Those claims then gathered pace, with plenty of other outlets claiming that Tottenham are keen on bringing Pochettino back.
Interestingly though, amid all the furore, PSG have now just tweeted an interview with their manager on the English account.
The timing of the post does seem rather interesting.
And some Tottenham fans fear that PSG are sending a message that their manager won’t be going anywhere.
So what does it mean?
Whether the tweet was simply scheduled or designed as a statement is unclear.
It is very interesting to see PSG posting about their manager so quickly after the rumours starting spreading though.
If Pochettino does return to Tottenham it will be a huge shock, given he only left the club 18 months ago.
The Argentine has always spoken about a desire to return to Spurs, but such a quick comeback was never predicted.
Pochettino’s first stint at Tottenham saw him lead them to a Champions League final and into contention for the Premier League title, but he never quite got the club over the line.
The squad hasn’t changed particularly drastically since the last time he was there, and the hope is that he could deliver similar results this time around – after what has been a disappointing campaign for Tottenham, where they could only finish in seventh place.
