According to Eurosport, West Ham United are likely to send an offer to Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud this summer.
It’s claimed that West Ham have had a long-standing interest in Giroud and are now ready to make a move with his Chelsea deal set to expire.
That makes sense; West Ham sold Sebastien Haller in January and now need to find a replacement this summer without breaking the bank.
Giroud can support Michail Antonio up top, and appeals to West Ham as a free transfer who has vast Premier League experience.
The problem for West Ham is that there is a rival in the race, with AC Milan hoping to land Giroud for nothing.
Milan are looking into a potential deal, and with Giroud seeking a two-year contract, Milan could give him that.

Milan have just parted ways with another experienced target man in Milan Mandzukic, so Giroud could certainly fit as a direct replacement ahead of their return to the Champions League.
West Ham will have to hope that Giroud wants to stay in the Premier League and in London, as even with Europa League football secured, Giroud – branded ‘top class’ by teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi in March – won’t be an easy target.
