Alasdair Gold has re-iterated claims that Antonio Conte is not set to land the Tottenham Hotspur job on his own Youtube channel.

Football London claimed earlier this week that Tottenham had found their first choice target, who would cost them a serious chunk of money.

It was also said that Tottenham’s top choice candidate was at a club.

Naturally assumptions were made quickly, and Conte was one potential candidate who fit that description.

Conte is on a sizeable contract, is currently with Inter Milan and has a high enough profile to command a big wage.

However, Gold insists that Conte is not the man who he was alluding to in his piece.

“Antonio Conte, when I said about the financial resolve, people immediately said about him, but I’m told it’s not him either,” Gold said.

After Jose Mourinho’s failed spell in charge, Tottenham may be slightly reluctant to go after such a big name manager this time around.

However, Conte has won the Premier League before, during his time with Chelsea, and his management of Inter has been exceptional.

There would, therefore, be an appeal to appointing Conte.

However, the Italian is fairly defensive minded in his approach and that may not suit Tottenham, who are believed to be looking for an attacking coach, after becoming frustrated with their style of play under Mourinho.
