Bryshere Gray, of hit TV series Empire, pleaded guilty to charges of domestic assault against his wife, Candice Jimdar, back in 2020.

Who is Candice Jimdar?
Alleged assault victim, Candice Jimdar, is the wife of actor, Bryshere Gray.
Jimdar, with the assistance of a Good Samaritan, placed a call to the police around 10:15 pm on the day of the attack. Following this, officers were able to identify multiple injuries on Jimdar, as she alleged that her attacker was none other than Gray.
Candice disclosed to officers that she had been assaulted for hours and strangled to the brink of losing consciousness.
A timeline of Jimdar and Gray’s relationship
The pair have kept their relationship relatively low-key and out of the limelight. Here’s what we know:
- The two tied the knot in 2019 and had been married for just nine months before the alleged assault happened.
- The couple spent a lot of time in their home in Arizona, which is where the incident is said to have occurred.
- Gray described the relationship as an ‘open relationship’, stating: “We have an open relationship as well so I allow her to have a boyfriend because I’m really busy.”
Allegations against the ‘Empire’ star explained
In July of 2020, Bryshere Gray was arrested and taken to custody following a standoff with the SWAT. Gray was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, assault, and disorderly conduct.
According to TMZ, the actor bargained a plea deal in which, upon pleading guilty, he spent 10 days behind bars and was sentenced to 3 years of probation.
As for Candice, the apparent victim was taken to the hospital to treat the wounds. Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening and she has since been discharged from the hospital.
Bryshere is reportedly enrolled in a domestic violence treatment program, as per his probation, and is also banned from recreational drugs and the possession of firearms. Gray will partake in regular drug and alcohol consumption tests.
