Harry Kane would still not be tempted to stick around at Tottenham Hotspur even if Mauricio Pochettino came back to the club, the Independent report.

Kane and Pochettino had a wonderful relationship during the Argentine’s initial spell with Tottenham.

The Independent now suggest that a return is not an impossibility, with some at Spurs believing that Pochettino would like a return.

However, Kane’s head has apparently firmly been turned – and even that appointment would not convince him that his future lies at Tottenham.

That is sure to disappoint Spurs fans, although the news that Daniel Levy has stuck a £200 million price-tag over his star man’s head still makes any deal look doubtful.

Interest is growing in Kane, who has done a series of interviews recently seemingly outlining his desire to leave, but he remains under contract at Tottenham until 2024, and has little power to leave the club.

Indeed, Spurs reportedly know that Kane is unlikely to be unprofessional and force his way out of the club, if he is forced to stick around.

If that does happen then Pochettino’s return could be some consolation for Kane.

The England captain played some of his very best football under Pochettino during his first stint in charge.

And a shock return would at least build some confidence that Tottenham will head in the right direction again, after losing their way since his departure.
