Edin Terzic would “like to stay” at Borussia Dortmund despite the prospect of taking over at Tottenham Hotspur or Crystal Palace, the Bundesliga club’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has told WAZ.
No-one at Signal Iduna Park would stand in Terzic’s way if, after six months in interim charge of one of Europe’s biggest clubs, the managerial bug had bitten.
After a difficult start to life in the Dortmund dugout, Lucian Favre’s fresh-faced replacement not only led Dortmund to DFB-Pokal glory, battering Leipzig 4-1 in the final, his side also overhauled Eintracht Frankfurt to secure a place in the Champions League.
The Terzic era, then, can be considered an unqualified success.
And, according to BILD, the likes of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United were all impressed by a 38-year-old who got the best out of Jadon Sancho, Erling Haaland and a revitalised Marco Reus, bringing the fun back to BVB.
But, despite the fact Dortmund have already handed the coaching keys to former Monchengladbach boss Marco Rose, it appears Terzic would have no problem stepping back into the background.
The one-time West Ham coach is expected to take an assistant role as part of the Rose regime.

“I still believe he would like to stay with BVB,” says Watzke, who claims to have held a “long, one-on-one conversation” with Terzic.
Tottenham and Crystal Palace are no closer to finding a new head coach while it remains to be seen what Mike Ashley has planned for Newcastle, with some Magpies fans making their feelings known towards Steve Bruce last week.
