Well, Liverpool solidified their Champions League spot on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side went into yesterday’s visit of Crystal Palace knowing that a win would guarantee fourth place.

And Liverpool certainly kept up their end of the bargain by securing a 2-0 win in Roy Hodgson’s final game as the Londoners’ boss.

But the Reds wound up getting a bonus by finishing third in the Premier League after Chelsea lost away to Aston Villa and had to settle for fourth, ahead of Leicester City in fifth.

Beating the Eagles completed a five-match winning streak for the Anfield club and given where they were earlier this calendar year, finishing third is one hell of an achievement without your three best centre-backs – Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Now that Liverpool finalised their place in the Champions League, some fans of the Merseyside club have been directly tweeting one of the club’s reported targets.

Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to the Premier League giants, with his Paris Saint-Germain contract expiring next summer.
