Reported Wolverhampton Wanderers target Kang-In Lee thinks he’s played his final game for Valencia after refusing to extend a contract that is due to expire in 2022, as reported by Super Deporte.

Los Che supporters would have been forgiven for thinking that the departure of Javi Gracia a few weeks ago was the answer to Kang-In Lee’s prayers.

The 20-year-old South Korean found opportunities hard to come by under the former Watford boss.

And it is no coincidence that, since interim boss Voro returned to the Mestalla dugout for the umpteenth time, the gifted attacking midfielder has started two La Liga games in a row for the first time in months.

According to reports from the Castellon coast though, it will take a lot more than 81 minutes against Huesca to convince Lee to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The diminutive schemer is due to become a free agent in 2022.

Super Deporte believe that Lee is likely to have played his final game in Valencia colours, having turned down the chance to sign a new contract at the two-time Champions League finalists.

Wolves are interested, with the £14 million-rated Lee potentially on his way to Molineux in a deal that would see Rafa Mir move in the other direction and re-join his former club (Sport Aragon).

Despite scoring 16 times on loan at Huesca, Mir is unlikely to be handed a fresh start in the Black Country.

The departure of Nuno Espirito Santo could change that, of course.

Then again, with Raul Jimenez returning and Fabio Silva benefitting from a year of semi-regular first-team football, there is an argument to be made that Lee would be a more valuable addition to this Wolves squad than Mir.

A technically-gifted, intuitive attacking midfielder likened to former Valencia youngsters David Silva and Isco, Lee may be the man to add some creative horsepower to an often one-paced engine room.
