Arsenal beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, which meant a meeting with one of their summer transfer targets.
The Gunners scored both goals in the second half as Nicolas Pepe bagged a brace, first scoring on his right foot before adding the second on his left.
Pepe was Arsenal’s star man again, ending the season with five goals in his last three games as he left fans believing he is set for a huge campaign next term.
Pepe was also spotted talking to Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma on the Emirates pitch – and it didn’t stop there.
Football.London’s Chris Wheatley tweeted out a photo from Bissouma’s social media which shows him posing with Pepe after the game was over.
The pair know each other having played together at Lille, but their friendship could have further-reaching implications this summer.
Football.London claimed earlier this month that Bissouma is not only an Arsenal fan, but regularly speaks to Pepe and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Arsenal are interested in signing Bissouma, and having two friends at the club he loves almost makes a move make too much sense.
Maybe Pepe was having a cheeky word about them joining forces next season, maybe he wasn’t, but seeing them so close on and off the pitch on Sunday will only set tongues wagging in North London.
