Pablo Hernandez’s wife, Mar Garcia, has posted the following message on Twitter, showing her appreciation for Leeds United fans.
Hernandez will leave Leeds this summer, and ahead of the match, the Elland Road faithful showed their love for him.
The Spanish attacking midfielder – as well as Gaetano Berardi, who is also leaving – was given an award by Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani ahead of the game as well.
The 36-year-old has struggled for playing time this season, and it was a great gesture from head coach Marcelo Bielsa to include him in the starting lineup.
Hernandez has been a key figure for Leeds over the years and helped the team win promotion from the Championship at the end of last season.
The former Valencia star is 36 now and is past his prime, but he can still do a job for an ambitious club if his playing time is managed properly.
It will be interesting to see where Hernandez goes next.
Perhaps the 36-year-old will go to CD Castellon, having previously expressed his desire to retire at the Spanish club.
