Aston Villa assistant manager John Terry has raved about Rangers boss Steven Gerrard in The Times.

Chelsea legend Terry has been impressed by the work that Gerrard has done at Rangers.

The former England international defender has also said that he wants to manage Chelsea in the future, and has praised Frank Lampard for what he did at Stamford Bridge last season.

Terry told The Times: “My ambition is very, very clear. There’s an end goal for me and that’s managing Chelsea Football Club. My team will be winning — hopefully — very honest, very organised, very well drilled, very well prepared and with a back four.

“I look at Lamps [Frank Lampard] and Stevie [Gerrard] and the success they’ve both had. Lamps in his first season at Chelsea, and what Stevie’s done up at Rangers is unbelievable.”

Gerrard has guided Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title this season, and that too without losing a single game.

The Liverpool legend was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018.

It was Gerrard’s first senior management role, and, it must be said that he has been exceptionally well.

Rangers collapsed in the second half of both of his first two seasons in charge, but this campaign, Gerrard was able to bring consistency to his team.

The Gers were brilliant in Europe as well.

The Ibrox club went as far as the Round of 16 in the Europa League.

Celtic will recover from their disappointing season and will come back stronger in 2021-22.

Rangers will have to be ready for the challenge from their bitter Old Firm rivals next season.
