Paul Merson has said on Sky Sports News (1:14pm, May 23, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy may have an advantage over Harry Kane.

The former Arsenal star believes that since Kane is a nice person, Tottenham chairman Levy could use that to dig his heels in.

Sky Sports reported this month that Kane has told Spurs that he wants to leave.

The England International striker himself told former Manchester United defender Gary Neville on The Overlap that he wants to hold talks with Levy over his future.

Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:14pm, May 23, 2021): “The problem he has got against him is he is a nice lad. So Levy will know that, and he will go, ‘You know what? He is a nice lad. If I dig my heels in here, he is not going to upset me. He is not going to come back pre-season and not turning up to training’.

“He is a nice lad, and that might be a problem in him getting a move. He might not get one because of that.”

Kane does appear to be a level-headed guy.

It is hard to see the 27-year-old striker force a move away from Tottenham.

It is clear that Kane wants to leave, but would he go as far as to put in an official transfer request?

Would the striker refuse to play if Levy does not sell him?

Surely not.

After all, Kane is a Tottenham fan, and he will not want to disappoint the supporters.

Tottenham chairman Levy reportedly wants £150 million as transfer fee for Kane.

If no club is willing to pay that much money, then Spurs chief could well decide to keep the striker.

City do need a striker as Sergio Aguero is leaving and are also very wealthy, and perhaps they will pay what Levy wants for Kane.
