Martin Keown has claimed that Harry Kane’s ‘body language’ after Tottenham Hotspur’s win on Sunday indicated to him the player wants a change of scenery.

Kane scooped the Premier League’s Golden Boot award by scoring in Spurs’ 4-2 victory away to Leicester City.

It was a nice way for the 27-year-old to end a headline-grabbing week.

Earlier in the week it was reported [Sky Sports] that Kane wanted to quit Tottenham during the upcoming transfer window and his interview with Gary Neville hardly did much to refute that speculation.

After the game on Sunday, the Lilywhites hitman, who scored 23 goals this past season, embraced a lot of his teammates.

And former Arsenal defender Keown has told Final Score on BBC that it was a sign to him that the player is leaving.

He said: “I’m not a body language expert but Harry Kane could be saying he will not be a Spurs player next year. You just wonder with Kane, does the future lie elsewhere for him?”

It certainly did look as if Kane was saying goodbye.

After all, his post-match behaviour in midweek was a big indication, but the way in which he hugged his Tottenham colleagues tonight did give off a certain vibe.

And who can blame him?

The Golden Boot award tells you that he’s the best goalscorer in English football – if not Europe – and yet the North Londoners could only finish seventh this season.

Nobody is bigger than the club, but Kane is bigger than the current team and even most Tottenham fans might admit that he deserves trophies which he just won’t win there.
