Fabrizio Romano has claimed on The United Stand that Raphael Varane is open to a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.
Earlier this month, The Manchester Evening News claimed that Premier League giants Liverpool and United interested in signing Varane from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The France international central defender is out of contract at Madrid at the end of next season.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano, who now works as a journalist for The Guardian and Sky Sport, has said that he has been told that the 28-year-old is open to a move to the Premier League.
Romano said on The United Stand: “What I am told is that Varane is open to move to English clubs in general.”
Wonderful news for Liverpool fans.
Can you image Varane and Virgil van Dijk in the same team?
With Alisson in goal, and Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson the two full-backs, Liverpool would become pretty much impenetrable.
Varane is a serial winner, having won the La Liga and the Champions League multiple times with Madrid.

The 28-year-old is a world-class centre-back, and it would be a massive coup for Liverpool if they are able to secure his services this summer.
However, Liverpool need to finish in the Champions League places.
If Jurgen Klopp’s side are not in Europe’s premier club competition next season, then it is hard to see Varane make a move to Anfield.
