Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Leeds United vice-chairman Paraag Marathe has been waxing-lyrical about Raphinha.

The Brazilian joined Leeds in the summer and it’s fair to say that he’s been one of the Whites’ best players this term, netting six goals and providing a further eight assists.

Marathe has clearly been very impressed by what he’s seen from Raphinha this term, highlighting him as one of the Whites’ best signings of the summer.

“I think it’s probably best for me to point to the fact that we spent a considerable sum this summer in a very challenging market with covid and no fans. We were very aggressive about it, in bringing in the players we did. And in many ways it bore fruit, and we had some great success with the players with brought in, certainly someone like Raphinha was a revelation.”

Marathe certainly isn’t wrong about Raphinha.

Leeds needed to bolster their right wing position after Helder Costa’s underwhelming debut campaign at Elland Road, and Raphinha has certainly improved the Whites’ squad.

The 24-year-old has been absolutely excellent almost every time he has stepped onto the pitch and his performances have seen him linked to the likes of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Fingers crossed Leeds and Marathe can make another signing who’s just as successful as Raphinha in the upcoming summer transfer window.
