Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Joshua Bassett are three young stars supposedly joined in a love triangle following recent song releases.

After the new release of Rodrigo’s first album, fans are now wondering if more love-triangle drama is to follow.

Musical love triangle explained

Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Basset are co-stars in High School Musical: The Musical – The Series, while Sabrina Carpenter is a fellow Disney star from Girl Meets World.

The release of Olivia Rodrigo’s debut single ‘Driver’s License’ first sparked rumours of a supposed love triangle in January 2021.

As Olivia sings about a past relationship, she references a supposed love rival in the lyrics:

“And you’re probably with that blonde girl”

As Olivia and Joshua Bassett had seemingly previously dated and Sabrina Carpenter (a blonde girl) was then thought to be with Bassett, this had fans convinced she was singing about Sabrina.

Sabrina Carpenter then released a supposed response track called ‘Skin’.

It is also thought that Joshua Bassett has been musically responding to the drama, with his single ‘Lie Lie Lie’.

To this day, Rodrigo, Bassett and Carpenter are yet to confirm whether their alleged love triangle was real or not.

The drama now continues as more music is released…

Olivia Rodrigo’s new album Sour explored

After her debut single ‘Driver’s License’ took off, Rodrigo then released ‘Déjà vu’ which is about watching an ex start a new relationship with someone else.

Olivia Rodrigo then released ‘Good 4 U’ which fans again believe is about her split with Joshua Bassett.

The popular young artist has now released her first album, Sour, which contains 11 songs.

A fan named @tripl3pisces took to TikTok to rank the album as they sung along to previews of each song.

Notice the song titles? They seem ex-romance-related, right?

Fans react to the new album and drama

Before the album was released, @lucasspamss shared his assumptions regarding the song titles.

Lucas captioned his video by suggesting that the entire album is about a sour breakup.

A TikTok user named @nicolejwright19 shared a video using a song from Sour named ‘Traitor’, featuring various images of the love triangle.

Overall, the TikTok video suggests that ‘Traitor’ is aimed at Joshua Bassett as the images switch from Olivia and Josh to Sabrina and Josh…

@cheyennepohl also believes that Sour references the ongoing love drama as she implies that Olivia aims a lyric from ‘Brutal’ at Joshua Bassett.

However, not everyone is positively invested in the drama.

A TikTok user named @alexb17670 shared footage of him unsubscribing from Olivia Rodrigo on YouTube and stated that she is obsessed with Joshua Bassett.

Do you think the new Sour album refers to the continuous drama between the supposed love triangle?
