Aston Villa are interested in signing David Turnbull from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.
It has been reported that Villa are planning to make a bid of £7 million for the 21-year-old midfielder.
The report has claimed that the Premier League club have watched the 21-year-old Scotsman several times this season.
Villa manager Dean Smith has received glowing reports about the youngster and wants him in his team for next season and beyond, according to the report.
Turnbull is one of the very few Celtic players who have done consistently well this season.
The 21-year-old made 20 starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership this campaign, scoring six goals and providing five assists in the process.
The young midfielder also scored one goal and gave one assist in one Europa League game for the Hoops this campaign.

Celtic are unlikely to be willing to sell the youngster, and Villa may have to bid more than £7 million.
It will be interesting to see what Turnbull does if indeed Villa make an offer.
The midfielder could be a big player for the Hoops next season and could have the team built around him under a new manager.
However, the temptation to move to an established club in the Premier League could be too much to resist.
