According to a report by Goal, Arsenal are set to ramp up their interest in Norwich City star Emi Buendia this summer.
Arsenal are in dire need of a long-term solution in terms of creativity in the midfield, and according to Goal, Buendia is now their number one target amid uncertainty over Martin Odegaard’s future.
Arsenal have long been linked with a move for Buendia, with the Argentine reportedly being a top target in January, and it seems as though the Gunners are set to go back in for him.
Buendia isn’t the only attacking midfielder on Arsenal’s radar at the moment, with Goal also reporting that they’re keen on Real Betis ace Nabil Fekir, but the 24-year-old is the man at the top of the Gunners’ list.
It’s easy to see why Buendia has caught Arsenal’s eye. He’s been one of the best players in the Championship this term, notching up 31 goal contributions, including a mammoth 16 assists.
Of course, a player of this calibre doesn’t come cheaply, and Goal report that Norwich want £40m for his services this summer.
Whether or not this move comes to fruition or not remains to be seen, but this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
